Household chemicals to be collected

The Metropolitan Environmental Trust will be collecting household hazardous waste from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 8-9 at the Tulsa Fairgrounds, Gate 7 by Driller’s Stadium.Residents can make their homes safer by disposing of unusable or unwanted household chemicals that can be harmful when thrown out with the trash or poured down the sink.Expired or unwanted items such as cleaners, pesticides, fryer oil, batteries, motor oil and antifreeze, prescription drugs and oil-based paints are accepted. Unacceptable waste includes latex paint, tires and commercial waste.

Residents from Tulsa County and surrounding areas are encouraged to participate. For more information about the event, call 584-0584.
