Public Works Tree Limb Pick Up

Public Works crews are pro-actively working to pick up tree limbs and debris on every street in Tulsa. Because of the extent of tree debris throughout the city, this process is expected to take weeks. Contractors are being called in to supplement city crew efforts in order to expedite tree branch collection and disposal.

It is not necessary for individuals to call the Mayor’s Action Center to get their names and addresses on the list for pickup.

Tulsans should leave the tree branches and debris at the curbside until it is picked up. Residents and contractors should avoid stacking tree limbs on top of water meters. Water meters may be damaged when heavy equipment is used to grasp the debris for transport and disposal. Also, access to water meters is important for the City to maintain proper service for customers.

Tulsa residents also may continue to take tree branches and yard debris to the City’s greenwaste sites at 71st & Elwood, west of the Arkansas River, and 56th Street North between Mingo and Hwy 169. On days other than City holidays, the greenwaste/wood chip sites are open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.

Tulsa residents may drop off greenwaste at the site free of charge. They should bring proof of residence such as a driver’s license or utility bill. Commercial customers and residents outside of Tulsa will need to set up accounts to be billed for this drop-off service.

Anyone, however, may take as many wood chips as desired free of charge. A front-end loader operator is available to load the wood chips into pickup trucks and trailers.

Firewood also is available free of charge to anyone while supplies last. There is a firewood cutting area at the green waste/wood chip sites. Those who cut wood at the sites must bring their own tools
